POZITIVE REBELLION

Inspired by their travels from Hawaii to California, Europe, Mexico and B.C., the Cowichan-Valley based reggae group, Pozitive Rebellion combines truly novel musical talents performing multi-lingual songs with feel-good danceable riddims.

Formed in 2020 with members from Vancouver Island based groups “Arise” and “Cheko & the The Lion Rockers”, their combined experience includes the Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival, One Love Festival, Diversity Festival, TD Victoria Jazz Festival, SOS Festival, Sooke Music Festival and 39 Days of July. They have collaborated with several Vancouver-island based reggae artists including Omolara, Zion Bell, Cheko Soto and Iwah Ras, backing three artists in one show.

Their sound is funky California Roots reggae with a latin twist, while paying respect to the universal roots message of love, peace, and independence from the corrupt Babylon system. Though there is no group that sounds quite like them, their influences include Steel Pulse, Dennis Brown, Sara Lugo, The Black Seeds, Midnite, Nattali Rize, Third World, Mike Love, Tribal seeds, among many more.

The positive, conscious lyrics with unstoppable reggae beats inspires audiences to get on their feet and get their groove on!
